I'm dating myself here but a LOT of 90s adventure games had an NPC you could _ask_ for hints but who would not typically volunteer them and many are beloved characters

I did an original Universal Monster run recently and it's such a huge difference. As depicted in the events of the films, Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein, and Mummy each kill like 1-5 people tops. Invisible Man kills HUNDREDS and wages a full reign of terror!
