I wrote today. I wrote the two climactic kiss scenes that I have been pulling my teeth out to write all week. The torment is over and I can go forward in peace. But I shall share a post-kiss snippet that I actually liked.

I spent my entire weekend reliving every second of that kiss. If I let my attention drift for even a moment, my mind seized the opportunity to transport me back there. Every sensation haunted me. My heart pounded relentlessly as I imagined his warmth hovering close. My spine tingled as if his hand were still firmly pressed against my back. My stomach stirred at the palpable tension that wove between us like an invisible force leading up to the moment his lips had acquainted themselves with mine. In those moments when I drifted, I’d return to reality to find my fingers pressed to my lips, as though our kiss still lingered there somehow, like fading ink on a worn out love letter.

To combat my perfectionist/self-editor tendencies, I’ve been writing Act 3 of MDE continuously in one document w/o chapter or scene breaks to force myself to get the words down and not get hung up perfecting a chapter before moving on. Just scrolled past this line and I think it’s going well

First entry for this…from a pretty angsty scene 👀
“Neither,” I said firmly. “You told me the other day I needed to be vulnerable. Well, here it is.” I spread my arms. “I feel empty. Empty and lifeless and numb. And I put so much time and effort and work into making myself this way. I needed it, I craved it. Because I couldn’t bare the alternative. Disconnecting from everything was so much easier than dealing. With the pain, with the hurt, with…people.”
