You’re right. I’m glad you loved Orbital. I thought it was beautifully written, even hypnotic, but I ended up wanting more from the story. That’s a whole other conversation! :) I still recommend it.

The Safekeep was one of my favorite books of last year. It was a well-deserved win for the Women's Prize for Fiction. I was disappointed it didn’t win the Booker.

Beach Music is probably kinda more like chick lit so I get why you didn’t love it! My step-mom and I ate that book up, haha. I really loved North Woods. Such a unique story. If you ever get around to it, let me know. The other title, I Cheerfully Refuse is by a favorite author of mine—Leif Enger.

Update: I ended up not loving it. Too long-winded in the geography, among other things. Oh well. It was okay.
