The photo is from a Klan March in Binghamton, New York, 1920s.
“He kept us out of war, America first” was Wilson’s campaign slogan in 1916 (ah, the irony). Then co-opted by the Klan in the 1920’s.

Michael Steele says it clearly. If you can’t win an election fairly, set it up so you can’t lose by putting your finger on the scale.

It’s frustrating. They are openly cheating and too many democratic leaders (and the media) are complacent about it.

To protect and serve…each other. Just not the rest of us, I guess. We are all the enemy. This makes me so sad.

We aren’t good at discerning what’s opinion and what’s fact. We tend to take it for granted everyone else sees the world the same way we do, and that we will never miss or misinterpret anything important. I think that’s one reason it’s so hard to be a free or flexible thinker—we think we already are

I can be cynical, which is why hope is so important to me. Scary things I can’t control are happening, but I am surrounded by more people who work to lift each other up than those indifferent to others suffering. Keep caring about each other and finding your joy. Sometimes it’s all we can do.

This is fun. I thought we had as much of this as we could tolerate in 2016. I guess I was wrong.
