My teenager is literally crashing out. She’s laying on the kitchen floor beside a mess of tuna and tomato pasta that spilled everywhere when the handle broke. She wants me to point out that she’s wearing her favourite Billie Eilish jersey.

Megyn R Kelly is trying to create a permission structure to forgive sex abusers, rapists and pedophiles. Apparently it’s only bad if the victim is 5, not if she’s 15.

Kelly’s daughter is 13.

Reminder: If the person you’re trying to have sex with is too young to consent, it’s not sex. It’s rape.

My kiddo has created a half-corpse and half-distressed-maiden face with cheap makeup, corn flour and Vaseline. One side of her face looks like a skeleton with a sunken black eye, while the other looks like a maiden who’s been weeping for weeks. She mastered special effects makeup during lockdown. My dashing husband is dressed in an Aquaman costume. The pants are dark green velvet and the top is a padded golden synthetic material. He has fake body armour with side panels, a vinyl belt and shiny green boots.

How did people first figure out that it was cicadas that make that noise? I could see that taking a long time. Were there just like a thousand years where people were like, “Yeah, the trees are screaming. They do that in the summer.”

IMO, Rupert Murdoch is not turning against Trump. News Corp is doing what it does best: making bank from politics.

The WSJ article isn’t breaking anything. It will allow Trump to release what he believes are the “pertinent” Epstein files, relieving some of the pressure he’s under.

Sometimes I get up in the morning and wonder what the hell happened while I slept.

Today I was greeted with three of five 1Direction dolls strengthening their cores on the kitchen bench.

I think it’s Harry, Zane and RIP Liam but don’t quote me on that.

Having young-adult children is the best. 😀

I love how News Corp attacks our voting system rather than acknowledging Australian voters chose those preferences.

The Trumper accusations stuck because News Corp shouted the Liberals’ hard-right credentials for months.

If anyone’s to blame for the losses, it’s News Corp.

45ml vodka
15ml passionfruit liqueur
90ml lemon juice
Smidge of vanilla syrup

Pour into an ice-filled shaker and AGITATE.

Strain into a glass crusted with a 70/30 sugar to salt ratio.

Today’s gripe:

Peter Dutton is a property mogul whose family trust has benefited from multiple government subsidies.

And I don’t think NewsCorp and 9Entertainment are publishing this to discredit Dutton. I think it’s done to broaden his appeal with their wealthier readers.

From the Conversation article: Fast-forward to 2014 and then Health Minister Peter Dutton introduced legislation as part of the budget for a compulsory copayment for GP consultations – a proposal that did not survive six months and failed in the Senate. A smaller optional payment also failed to get approval. But the idea of getting Australians to pay out of pocket to see a GP survived. It was introduced by stealth by freezing GP rebates, rather than adjusting them to inflation. This slowly forced GPs to introduce patient co-payments as their costs increased and their rebates didn’t. By the time Labor was elected, bulk billing was said to be in freefall.

It started as soon as Labor made announced it. Apparently we should ignore 50 years of Liberal history dealing with Medicare.

Fraser abolished Medibank, Abbott lied about cuts to Medicare funding and Morrison “changed” 900 Medicare items without notice during a pandemic - just to name a few.
