Wanna hear disgusting?

After you spend either $60 or $70 on Metroid Prime 4, if you want music in the desert that you spend a lot of time in... YOU HAVE TO BUY a $30 AMIIBO!

So yeah, you're in for $90 or $100 if you want music in the desert hub.

Another look back, here's Vay for the Sega CD. This RPG was brought to us in the west by Working Designs.

It's pretty mediocre, but it was still a new CD based-RPG back then with redbook audio and animated cut scenes. Did you know there's a modern re-release for mobile and desktop PCs?

Here's another under-appreciated Sega CD game... Dark Wizard! It's not much to look at, but it's a great strategy RPG with deep gameplay and an amazing redbook audio soundtrack.

Also, it's the only game I ever felt the need to write down info in a notebook.

One of my favorite arcade titles, and one of my all time favorite run and guns, is Konami's Super Contra. This was a big improvement over the original arcade Contra and has an awesome soundtrack.

I don't get what Final Fantasy XV fans love about that game. The story is barely there, the quests are dull, the world is small, its super short - it feels like a quarter of a game at best.

It has great moments of pure spectacle, but there are only a few of those.

I felt XV was a big letdown.

Here's the original Lunar: The Silver Star for Sega CD, the first game in the series.

It was a little rough around the edges, especially visually, but has the best soundtrack of the original game and its remakes.

It definitely has its charm and I'd rather play this version than the remakes.

If you've been thinking about buying an Anbernic RG DS, tempting at $100 before shipping, do NOT.

Several videos and reviews show major problems with it. The top screen isn't synced with the bottom right majorly affecting scrolling and it also freezes a lot. Word is this is complete disaster.

Another great and underrated 16-bit RPG is Phantasy Star IV! For me it's definitely in the top 5 of all 16-bit RPGs for all platforms.

Sadly, it was the final traditional turn-based and story focused single player game in the series.

I'd like to check out an AYN Thor. I have an Odin 2 and it's great. Buzz on the Thor is mostly positive, with a few issues.

I've been trying to get in touch with AYN about getting one for review on my channel but haven't had any luck.

Anyone here have a connection with them and can help?

Want to play a version of the original Lunar that feels more like Final Fantasy? Check out this mini-remake of the original for GBA, Lunar Legend! The characters don't move around the battlefield in this one.

I still prefer the Sega CD original but this was an interesting take.

Positive about being a teacher at this time of year: early release tomorrow, off wed-fri!

Negatives: students don't want to do anything at all this week... moreso than usual.

We should see these characters in something new.

I don't care how many times they remake FF IV... I'll be there for it!

I wish it got the full 3D, modern graphics treatment with an expanded story and more optional stuff to do.

If you know this character's SUPER secret identity then we can be friends.

For every battle, you can only win EITHER experience OR money, you have to set an option to say what you want. Who thought that was a good idea?

And dealing with flying enemies is also incredibly cumbersome.

I still hope Lunar comes back someday, just not like this again, please! (post 2/2)

Here's the black sheep of the Lunar series, Lunar: Dragon Song for the DS, the last entry in the series.

It was a misguided attempt at revival with gameplay systems that were cumbersome and without the charm or intensity of Eternal Blue. The US cover art also lied about the developers! (post 1/2)

The best version of my fav JRPG! Sure, WD mangled it a bit, but everything that was great about it overshadowed that.

Alrighty folks, here's another song from an upcoming project I'm contributing to. Let me know what you think! Subtle hint: It's for a Genesis port of a certain sneaky game that you can see named right here in Furnace 😁

A little musical interlude. You can probably guess what this is for! Let me know what you think!
