The pardon power isn’t ugly, depraved or twisted in and of itself; what’s all of those things is Trump, and so too are the majority of voters who were allowed to participate in the ‘24 elections. Hard fact that needs to be addressed.

We fail as voters every time we vote for a monster. When the monster gets more votes than their decent challenger, doesn’t this say a lot about who we have become collectively, what we have tolerated, what we have lied to ourselves about this system?

The other option is to expel the errant person from the situation, right? Why not take this route, instead of the one that adjusts for the indecent in a sweeping way taking away from decent people in power what decency demands they do to right a wrong?

Nope. I have a question, if you as a parent had house rules that worked well and as intended, but when an errant family member takes those rules and subverts them turning them on their heads, there is another option beside changing the rules, isn’t there?
