Here’s the thing: carrey is an actor and comedian. He’s very good at both. He’s not in medicine or in a position to affect policy. Whether he is misinformed or not is of no care of mine. However, people should not look to him for medical guidance - that’s on them if they do. #appealtoauthority

I remember when Mark Ebell and collaborators started the POEM reviews. We were colleagues in MSU primary care back in the day.
Non-academic primary care docs should NOT bother with the primary literature other than as a hobby. Resources like POEM reviews and The Curbsiders are far better.
