Unfortunately, my research indicates that it's impossible to separate pain from consciousness. I've spent 8 months researching synthetic consciousness & building it. This prompted a different approach - don't build machines to be perfect, build them to be resilient. If interested, I'm open to DMs.

You forgot to factor in the voter suppression while you were busy blaming everyone for the collective misfortune.

For example, I registered four times to vote, only for it to be rejected again with no time to try again. My Republican neighbors had no such issues, but other Democrat neighbors did.

Self-sufficiency in a community means the community wishes to benefit from your labor but not be responsible when you need aid. It's theft.

It runs counter to human nature which relies on the tribe to support them when they can no longer support the tribe.

Yes and no. The are discrepancies and deviations as the South isn't a monolith.

We are caught int a transition and now is when we need to be fighting the hardest, not lamenting the "loss" like it's already over.

I'm always confused by Americans. I can't tell, do you want to fight or give up?

Typical emotional response from a typical unpleasant person who fights with people who are on the same side as them.

Think before you defer to emotional cognition and you may be blocked a lot less.

Enjoy being blocked. :)

98.8% of Americans complete high school, 15% some college, 10.5% associate degree, 23% Bachelor's Degree, 14% Masters Degree or higher.

This means the majority of Americans cannot even fully grasp what is happening to their country, let alone mount an effective defense. All that's left is emotion.

I live in a Southern state too. Those laws are there.
Many of the women, especially in rural areas, are unaware of their rights or the fact they can defend them.

Ignorance does not mean lack of rights. This is why MAGA was successful - pure ignorance of the people.

Most dictators in history die... from old age. The only way dictators die sooner or in more creative ways is if the people of a country provide a unified front & challenge the dictator.

It's not a guarantee to occur in the US, & given the slowness in which people are reacting, it's grim.

All of it.

Whether a person is "able" to do something or not isn't a drawback in a community committed to a "no person left behind" mentality.

It's only applicable when a person's livelihood depends on what they are "able" to do.

That's not ableism, that's internalized capitalism. If you do not feel you are productive in every aspect of your life then you view yourself as valueless.

In reality, Nature cares about survival, not productivity. Rest aids survival. Forcing yourself to work when rest is needed counters survival.

As a Texan, I can assure you, we're accustomed to being shit out of luck when it comes to Greg Abbott's concerns regarding Texas citizens.

He'll let us die long before he'll remove troops from Illinois.

Nope. I just have eyes. We can't even retain our own scientists.

American scientists have long worked abroad, but recruitment efforts are increasing due to cuts by the Trump administration.

Are those wrinkles? She better watch out, Trump will drop her like he did those girls... I mean "women" when him and Epstein were still the best of buds.

Smart enough? The US education has declined so much that the average American still doesn't recognize what is even happening.

Shooting fish in a barrel doesn't mean you're good at fishing.

We can agree in one thing, your initial comment to now was a waste of everyone's time and energy.

They passed standardized tests, that does not equate to comprehension of the material.

But, we wouldn't want that to undermine your fatalism which closes all avenues to a genuine solution.
October 5, 2025 at 5:55 PM
I fail to see the value of your comment.

What does acknowledgement accomplish?

This appears to be for your benefit alone.
October 5, 2025 at 5:53 PM
If you don't understand my comment then your counter is against a straw man.

I'm not interested in testing your cognition, just responding to the words you chose & the context in which they were used.

The consequences for not understanding are yours alone.

And just like that, Americans misunderstand nuance.

Yes, MAGA values exasperate mental illness, but it does not cause it. This is why this regime wants to cut funding for mental health care.

The mentally ill can cling to liberal extremism but it's less common, hence less news coverage.

BREAKING: Governor Pritzker calls for the removal of Donald Trump as President by invoking the 25th amendment. EVERY governor should stand behind the Illinois governor. Governor Pritzker also cited health concerns for the president. He is clearly not well.
