Νot necessarily indicative of where this project will go, btw. I have in mind another ep in a different but still raw style, and then we'll see.

Love this btw. And yeah thanks, I found it! I've been following his work at times but I still haven't listened to most. Werepanther rocks!

It always sucks (referring to the last sentence). I don't know what to suggest, in music at least people seem to appreciate pricing your art low and usually give something extra, but I don't know how it works with visual art. I love your latest painting btw, it's so great

Hey there, hoping things get better!

I think i understood who is behind this project realizing 1) the probably isn't a project from Greece 2) split with Nahadoth 3) oh, it's an accordion

True. But at the same time there's always going to be a disproportionate focus to antifascists and political persons speaking out. We shouldn't be convinced every antifascist's past mistakes are as harmful as fucking open nazis like Arghoslent, because that's what the the narrative is going to be.

I was an apolitical careerist in my early 20's and worked together with many shitheads in the bm scene, took part in a comp with NSBM bands, supported bands like Nargaroth, Archgoat, until I wasn't any more and started to get politicized. This conversation has a self-critical side for sure too.

and take some heat off from the people that decided to first come out talking. Tomorrow we'll be the next ones to be under the hammer, so our only chance is to support each other in such situations and not focus on such obvious bullshit diversions. Always keep talking

Realistically speaking, you can't not know what's going on with *that* kind of festivals, full of crypto-nazi bands, openly racist bands or right wing edgelords. If you don't know yourself, people and fans will send you messages, etc. So it's a conscious decision for bands, for whatever the reason.

Indeed. By the way, just in case it's not obvious because blue-sky shows the replies in opposite order (start with 2, lol), I'm talking about MY experience, not anything that has to do with Ripped to Shreds

5) As it's usual with everyone that starts to talk and be political in the scene, trolls and right wingers come at them with "you're a hypocrite because you also said or did this". You're not a hypocrite because you're made mistakes or used to be different, you're a hypocrite when you don't own up.

4) To break this silence, we need to open up a space where we're going to get criticized as well. Some bad choices in the past might be unearthed. We might have to admit we had bad takes on some stuff for long. When we truly care about community, we do this to get better collectively.
October 7, 2025 at 10:36 AM
3) The first reaction that most band people have when discussing call-outs or generally being political in the scene is "but I also played with X and Y, now I'm next to get cancelled LOL" and equating anti-fascism with bad faith arguments and purity culture.
October 7, 2025 at 10:36 AM
2) Because, guess what, if you've been in the metal scene for long (esp. the apolitical part and extreme subgenres), chances are that you HAVE been complicit in facilitating nazis in some way. I've been too - I've had a track in a comp with NSBM bands, I've performed with sketch bands younger.

Same. Dead Congregation have toured with Destroyer 666 in the past so it's not *that* much of a surprise, but people in the local scene here in Greece have been vouching for their antifascist credentials as well

If you're a fan of any of the non-nazi bands participating in this, it's good to let them know you don't put up with this shit, just an idea
