So true it’s the punitive nature of inspections which needs to change.
It risks effective headteachers deciding to retire or leave leadership and even teaching. It will make recruitment of effective headteachers more difficult.
The plan to retain numbered sub-judgements risks replicating the worst aspects of the current system and will do little to reduce the enormous pressure school leaders are under.
