Ough so inactive but do not worry... It is university time and I also put the internet aside for a month to play Silksong.

Have a metal wasp dragon and experimental landscape gel pen doodle~

Had a wonderful time at #dublincomiccon yesterday, I went as Spamton, it was so fun!!

Here's some amazing pics thanks to mech.obj on tiktok / instagram, his Tenna was incredible– the head had interchangeable mouths!

Here's human Reaves lore
Sketches of a character named Reaves. One shows him at 18 years old, awkward and just beginning to be out as a trans man. The other shows him at 24 years old, jaded and worn down by the world. Real happy with this... I think I've struck a good balance of dragon to not-dragon, and made it just the right level of streamlined and menacing. Plus, very very almost evolutionarily plausible!

It's like if a dragon had a disco elysium portrait

The art is very splotchy and colourful, with various abstract shapes and steaks. Fun fact: The bottom cropped funny but it looked cool so I made it part of the picture. That's why it looks different down there.

WIP of course but this is real fun... This was actually my first proper 3d model!
And now I can finally model their horrible little bones so you can see why they're shaped like that :]

Another screenshot of the new model from the parent post. Here, muscle and skeleton models have been overlaid on top of the model. Of note, their ears aren't actually on their head. They're part of their tail, like their relatives. Coincidentally, they happen to look like they have ears on their head, due to their strange anatomy. Another screenshot of the creature, with only the bones visible. Here it's easiest to tell what's going on biologically with them; Their spine is 'upside down', running along their front rather than their back. In addition, their spine doubles back on itself, so that their tail is above their head.

Several doodles of an insect-like creature. It is made up of segments, and has 6 limbs, arranged like a centaur. It is covered in spiky breathing tubes and armored plates. Some doodles explore the creatures limbs, which have many digits that work together.

For reference purposes, her many hair-like fronds are absent. A low opacity copy of her drawing is to the left, with fronds drawn. On the right is a sketch of a generic Solmeis. It is considerably skinnier than Ter-Turih. Anatomical Notes: The Solmeis do not possess mammalian hair. What appear to be hairs are in fact fatty, fleshy protrusions from the skin. There's no good earthly analogy for these 'fronds', except perhaps those rubber hair tube toys, if you've seen them. They also don't have boobs; Teri here just has impressively buff and fat chest muscles. They breathe through their 'gills' primarily, but their mouth is still connected to their airway. Evolutionarily this is to allow them to gulp/inhale things, but the Solmeis and their kin of course have adapted their mouths for communication. The Solmeis do not 'smell' like us, as their noses are not connected to their airway. Their nose is instead covered in chemoreceptors, which they can 'sniff' with by contracting their nose muscles to stimulate and enhance reception. Solmeis can hop, and also run on all fours. Usually they walk, but hopping is energetically efficient. It's rare to see a Solmeis run on all fours, but it is their fastest way of moving.

One thing I love in dragon designs is when their limbs are uncannily human. For example see a lot of Dark Souls dragons and a lot of those tourist trap glitter dragon statues (my beloveds)

Of particular note, it has prominent pecs, interrupting its body's scales.

These are old doodles, but they're actually born radially symmetrical!
Doodles of a family aliens dubbed by myself as 'jelly horses'. They are horse-shaped creatures, with gelatinous, spongy bodies. Their eyes are on stubby thick stalks.

I struggle a lot to integrate invertebrates directly into my creations... I find them hard to really capture without just replicating them, or putting their features onto more 'alien' vertebrate bases.
Old digital art of an alien bug. It has 6 wings, with leaf-like veins. Protrusions on its tail bear the same look and pattern. It has gill-like frills appearing from the gaps in its segmentation. Its eyes are on stalks.

Some cool doodles exploring a recent change I've made to the Solmeis, the species my characters are.
Previously, they had wings separate to their arms, but now they turn their arms into wings directly :]
Various doodles of flying humanoids, all in dynamic poses, to show off their wings. More doodles, particularly exploring their foot dexterity, which gives them the ability to wield weapons with their feet while they fly.
