This is the brand affected by spores causing infant botulism. Certain lots recalled in the US.

Not available in the US, but elsewhere there is vaccination for measles alone. This is largely in Africa, but also Afghanistan, that vaccinate simply for measles, not rubella and mumps. There's a move to phase this out and bring in measles-rubella. immunizationdata.who.int/global/wiise...

In case it wasn’t clear:
There’s lots of data showing that getting multiple respiratory vaccines together is safe and effective.

CVS is holding on COVID vaccinations in 16 states and DC given the assumption that pharmacists in these states need CDC endorsement of the vaccine to provide.
Most COVID vaccines are given in pharmacies.

If vaccines made doctors rich, pediatricians wouldn’t be the lowest-paid in medicine. They chose kids over higher salaries their classmates earn elsewhere.

By “return,” what is meant is that malaria was once endemic in the US. The CDC was founded in Georgia—because it was then the nation’s malaria hotspot. Here’s a Library of Congress map showing past distribution:

In case you're wondering: no, it is not "the entire phylum of viruses".
Here's the taxonomy of viruses in general and measles in particular, from the folks who name viruses.

When to seek care after contact with a macaque monkey - wash out any wounds right away, always:
August 7, 2025 at 12:47 PM
When an infectious disease specialist sees someone picking up a macaque, one thing comes to mind: Herpes B.
These monkeys often carry it, look harmless—but the virus can be fatal to humans.
If exposed, seek urgent treatment (ie, need acyclovir or related med). Don’t wait.

Screwworm, a devastating livestock parasite, is resurging in the Americas—and it can infect humans too. While most cases in Mexico have been in Chiapas, an elderly woman from Campeche has now died, who had screwworm on top of skin cancer, squamous cell carcinoma.

Another One Health reminder: Mammals across the US—including cats, squirrels, and raccoons—are testing positive for H5N1 bird flu.

A raccoon in the Bronx tested positive in January but was only reported this week.

RFK Jr. has in the past amplified voices denying HIV causes AIDS—most notably Peter Duesberg, who helped fuel HIV denialism in South Africa and cost countless lives.

HIV causes AIDS. There’s no “both sides” or neutrality on the facts, as RFK Jr says.

Undermining HIV prevention—here and abroad—puts lives at risk. Now the admin plans to phase out NIH support for gold-standard HIV clinical guidelines.

It’s not an exaggeration: changes to ACIP and vaccine oversight will lead to dead babies

The Spartan myth of leaving “unfit” infants to die didn’t save them—Sparta still fell

The real myth? A despicable one, that only sick kids die from these diseases. Choosing to let any babies die is immoral
