Before working in the neighbourhood, I had no idea there is so much public art in the financial district. Some of it is so whimsical too, I love it.

Public Consultation RapidTO: Dufferin Street Priority bus lanes between Eglinton Avenue West and King Street West The City of Toronto (City) and Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) invite residents to learn more and provide feedback on the opportunities to prioritize transit along 7.1 km of Dufferin Street, from Eglinton Avenue West to King Street West. With tens of thousands of people relying on buses along this key route every day, traffic congestion slows service down. Priority bus lanes are being considered to help reduce delays and improve reliability. Why Consider Changes on Dufferin Street? The City and TTC are proposing changes on Dufferin Street as part of the RapidTO: Surface Transit Network Plan, endorsed in principle by City Council. On weekdays, the 29/929 Dufferin buses serve over 40,000 transit riders. Buses on Dufferin Street take 53% longer than the average vehicle travel time and only 48-69% of buses arrive on time. As Toronto grows, updating roadway designs can help meet the city's evolving transportation needs, including during major events such as FIFA World Cup 26м. Subject to City Council approval, installation would begin in fall 2025, ahead of FIFA World Cup 26™ in summer 2026. If approved for installation, monitoring would be undertaken pre- and post-FIFA to ensure traffic keeps moving. Passover 2025: an uncle died, so I cried through most of Seder 1, also the Boston Workers Circle hagaddah focussed on antifascism and Palestinian liberation, so crying was apt; Seder 2, Adam bailed but I promised my grandma I would join, my uncle told me he had invited 5 randoms but +6 showed up.

My contribution: I didn’t learn about the flag I’m quoting in school, we only learnt about anglos in the context of their many boneheaded moves. Instead, I learnt about the flag of les patriotes/ the Papineau Rebellion:
The flag of les patriotes, known to anglophones as the flag for the Lower Canada Rebellion. The flag consists of three horizontal coloured bars: top bar is green, middle bar is white, bottom bar is red.

Last year I taught a colleague about the Christie Pit riots, when a few hundred Jewish and Italian youths beat up a ton of Nazis on the streets and led to Canada’s first anti-hate laws

According to her son, Danuta Danielsson feared that she would be prosecuted for attacking the neo-Nazi, so she never claimed credit. I wish she hadn’t needed to be so brave!!
