I’ve been working in natural history museums since I was 16, in that time I’ve met very few researchers who look like me. AMNH opening an exhibit highlighting black scientists in natural history (esp in our current climate) is MONUMENTAL to say the least! This will be a must visit!

Field season came and went! Five weeks of great people, lots of stratigraphy, ~2k lbs of sediment collection (meaning tons of microfossils), even some rodeos!

This is also the first time I have see a scientific use of multicolor filament. The three colors in this filament end up identifying facets of the teeth that face in the same direction.

Printouts of fossils teeth for Isiah Newbins. These fossils are about the size of a sesame seed. Being able to hold them and compare shapes is helpful in thinking about variation and function.
