It's just... a lot.
I hate that my kids are aware that there are emboldened shitheads out there saying (and doing) hideous things to trans and autistic folk. I hate that they (reasonably) worry about it, even in their own home.
And I can't fathom how much worse it'd be if we lived in the US.

I encourage curation of and critical engagement with the online content they consume, and we have a lot of discussions about self care, stepping back, and where we can go to focus on affirming news and stories.
And heck yeah, I encourage them to unplug and join me in the garden or create some art.

They have community online, which is lifesaving. And they're curious folk, who want to know about the state of the world - especially as it pertains to their existence as autistic and trans people.

A friend of mine went and saw Tony Martin perform last week - it led us to realise that fans have probably recited Late Show skits a shitload more times than the actual cast, who performed them live once and were done.
Did someone you knew have old VHS tapes, or did you discover the DVDs?
