This year, I’ve rolled credits on: Dragon Quest III HD-2D, Dragon Quest VII 3DS, and (just today) Monsters 2. Clearing out that DQ backlog!
Been working my way through some Dragon Quest titles while taking breaks from a current Skyward Sword HD playthrough. I finished up Dragon Warrior Monsters on Monday (started it in 2021) and cleared DQ1 last night (started in February). The going was slow, but I absolutely adore this series!

I’m worming my way through The Lays of Beleriand and it’s staggering to think I’m reading words Tolkien wrote nearly exactly 100 years ago (I’m in the “Lay of Leithian” currently)!

Really quite disheartening and disappointing to see the Tolkien Society hosting a discussion on “AI in fantasy filmmaking” this year at Oxonmoot.
It feels about as morally and philosophically opposed to Tolkien’s work as a talk on the benefits of deforestation.
