Mainly taking photos of small things that catch my eye while walking with the dog. Was a physicist long ago. Sometimes play with threads and paints. Have a slight book habit.
I’m wondering if I can manage a visit to Two Rivers while I’m in their area. Will I be able to paint like you if I buy their paper?

Lovely! I keep picking up leaves but not getting round to painting them.

He’s just had to rebuke someone for being a day late!

These are what I found. The red one is what I remember using later in her life, when she lived with us and I was a teenager. (Norah was her younger sister.)

My ebook arrived this morning!

I hope you feel better soon. I felt rough for a day or so after mine, but as this is your first dose, your reaction is likely to be stronger, I suppose.

I think I tried them all.

We’re not doing anything tonight, but B is busy barking at everyone else’s fireworks.

I just looked, and there isn’t any black treacle in any of her recipes. Also, they’re all made with margarine, being written down in that post-war time when butter was too expensive to use in baking. (One of them just specifies “fat”.)

She was from Huddersfield.

We always used to have parkin (and treacle toffee) on bonfire night. Must have been my father’s Yorkshire background. I have his mother’s recipe notebooks and there are at least three different parkin recipes.

Now I want to carry a threepenny bit around with me, just in case!

I have a sacroiliac belt, which goes round the pelvis and helps to stabilise the joint. That’s really helpful for me. Bending is painful unless I use my arms to take the weight. Stairs and hills, where the load is all on one leg are hard too.

Any time from Mon 17th would be fine. Thank you!
November 5, 2025 at 12:16 PM
Thank you! I’ve done the order. If you could hold on to it till 17th, that would be great.

I’d love them, but I’m going to be away next week. Would it be possible for you to post them after I get back?
November 5, 2025 at 11:54 AM
Thank you. It’s a familiar problem, but hasn’t flared up for a couple of years, so I’m a bit resentful that it’s showed up now!
