Today, Trump said US military should use Portland as “training grounds” and claimed it “looks like World War Two” here. Meanwhile, protestors were doing the Cha Cha Slide, enjoying tea, blowing bubbles and running around in inflatable chicken costumes. Not sure what kind of training he’s hoping for.

It’s a fancy weather radar map that is updated hourly with snow forecasts that can be zoomed in by region. You can still get a regular weather forecast on their site or other free websites. You’re not missing much.

My new electric blue ram cichlid boy. Turns out my first one was a girl, so I got her a little buddy. He is still a bit pale and skittish and my male flagfish is being a bit of a bully to him. But I do see the two rams hanging out together periodically, so that’s good. 😊
Juvenile Electric Blue Ram Cichlid about 1.25” long and somewhat of a pale blue as it is young and still stressed from the move. It is hiding against a pink rock that partially covers the entrance to a cave. From Aquatic Arts: The Electric Blue Ram Cichlid (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi “Electric Blue”) is a very beautiful, tank-raised variant of its species. This particular variant is known for the incredible neon blue coloration that covers almost its entire body in both males and females. Rams and other dwarf cichlids are very popular among aquarists due to their vivid coloration, small size, and interesting personalities.

Fish tank status update! My Schrödinger danios do not exist outside of feeding time but this here is proof they sometimes exist. 🤣 It’s what I get for creating the perfect Java moss cave under the driftwood. Also… my male flagfish has gotten huge and is a bully to my now hiding blue ram cichlids. 😭

My cat, Arceus, (RIP 😿) was the gentlest soul and 100% a therapy cat who comforted me through some of my darkest times. My current cats are more like Jonathen’s and the rowdiest of ruffians when they’re not all cuddled up asleep. I love them too. 😂🥰

Getting a good photo of my Glowlight Danios has proven to be a monumental task. Little buggers are so skittish and anytime I get too close to the tank, ALL 10 of them *disappear* behind my driftwood centerpiece. My daughter said, “Hive mind? More like hide mind!” 😂 They are much prettier in person!

From Aquatic Arts: The Glowlight Danio (Celestichthys choprae) is a very active, colorful species that is native to northern Myanmar. At an adult size barely exceeding 1 inch (2.5 cm), this peaceful schooling fish is an excellent addition to the well-decorated community aquarium. It is tolerant of a wide variety of water parameters, including temperature, so it is compatible with virtually all peaceful fish and invertebrates! Like many typical danios, the Glowlight Danio is very active and should be kept in schools of 6-10 specimens, although even larger schools are more optimal. This fish is very hardy and undemanding in a well-maintained aquarium, but it needs a fair amount of space due to its active and somewhat nervous nature. Stress and nervousness are minimal when this fish is kept in a larger school. The Glowlight Danio is completely peaceful and rather social with many other fish species as well. It is compatible with almost any smaller, active, peaceful fish and will sometimes appear to school and interact with other species regularly.

One of my Kuhli loaches paused long enough for a mediocre photo. 😂 I have both banded and black loaches and they LOVE to zoomie the other fish, especially the danios. The “faded” part near its belly is just a glass reflection. They are all very healthy. 🤗

Managed to snag a pic of one of my Snow Amanos! They move so quick and are so tiny, they’re hard to catch! As they get bigger (supposedly 1.5”-2”) I hope they will be easier to spot. 😍
Singular white Snow Amano shrimp on an algae covered branch. Black spots look almost green against the greenish brown background of the branch. From Aquarium Coop: Caridina multidentata (formerly called Caridina japonica) is an algae-eating dwarf shrimp that grows to about 1.5–2 inches (4–5 cm), which is slightly bigger than your average Neocaridina cherry shrimp. It is clear-colored with a tan or gray-blue tint (that is sometimes affected by diet) and a solid stripe down the back. Males are smaller and have dots along the side of the body, while females are larger and have a row of dashes instead of dots. From Garnelio: Snow Amano shrimp are wonderful white transparent shrimp, a bit like White Pearls, but as imposing in size as Amano shrimp.

My albino long-finned bristlenose plecostemus. Tiny right now but should get between 4-6” long at full size.
Yellowish pink albino long-finned bristle nosed plecostomus with white spots cleaning the end of a tree branch in an aquarium. From Aquatics Unlimited: The Bristlenose Plecostomus or Pleco for short, also known as the Bushynose Plecostomus, is native to rivers in South America. The standard Bristlenose plecostomus is primarily brown with mottling of lighter patches or spots. The mouth area and nose are covered in whisker-like appendages, which are used for detecting food. In males, these appendages grow much larger while in females, they are very subtle. Bristlenose plecostomus are a popular algae-eating alternative to the standard Plecostomus (Hypostomus plecostomus) because of their more manageable adult size at approximately 5″. From The Spruce Pets: The Bristlenose Pleco is one of the smallest catfish, growing to only 5 inches. They are brown, green, or gray with white or yellow spots; some have uneven coloring, with lighter and darker splotches on various parts of their bodies. Most have lighter abdomens and darker backs (with the exception of the albino Bristlenose, which is mostly yellowish). This species has an unusual appearance, featuring bony plates, a flat, fat body, and a wide head with an "underbite" to the set of the lower mandible. Bristles start to appear around six months, when the fish has reached maturity.

Tyrian, my glorious albino Purple Mystery Snail. (The albino ones are also sometimes called Magenta Mystery Snails.) It’s already doubled in size since I got it and should reach 3” eventually. Most gregarious snail I’ve ever seen and constantly on the move.

One of my Sun Orange Amano shrimp. I have a mix in colors of Amanos, but they are mostly transparent and hard to photograph. This guy is cleaning my filter. They are amazing algae eaters and super cute!

This is my electric blue ram cichlid. It was all by itself at the fish store and it kept following me around, so I had to bring it home. They are going to try to get me a friend for it, but it’s a juvenile and hard to sex, so hopefully I’ll luck out and get a “pair” as boys are very territorial.

My big boi Flagfish and his 2 girlfriends. He should get to about 2.5” and the ladies around 2”. Sometimes the girls go off by themselves to explore, but for the most part, the 3 of them stick together nibbling on algae. Colors will get more vibrant as they age.

They have rounded fins with the dorsal and anal fins positioned posteriorly and adjoining the caudal fin. Females have an obvious spot on their flanks and a clear spot near the posterior end of the dorsal fin, this has an opaque white margin. The fins may show a slight reddish color but this comes and goes in any individual but the reason for this is unknown. The females body is mainly olive but marked with turquoise scales. The common name of the flagfish is derived from the male due to the resemblance of its patterning to the flag of the United States. There is a dark rectangle on the shoulder which is imagined as the blue and white stars in the corner of the US flag and there are stripes along the flanks, some of which are red and others paler, albeit greenish rather than white. The male also has a dark spot positioned at the lower posterior corner of the dark rectangle. The olive-grey coloration and pattern of nondominant males, females, and juveniles underlies the more colorful pattern of the dominant males.
