I hate to be that “if you didn’t like this show it’s because you didn’t understand it” but yeah. Many didn’t. Even if they did and it’s not their cup of tea, that’s fine. But many didn’t understand it.

This reminds me of something I learned about recently with voting. Most people don't vote for values or issues or candidates. They vote based on how their party tells them to vote. That's what the fandom landscape has evolved into.
