3D generalist with emphasis on VR environment art (I can do it all though 😎)
Most of the challenges were about balancing this with other classes and projects. My portfolio class for example took up a lot of my time. (It honestly still is). But the experience was well worth it like I said. I can only hope I can continue working on projects like this

Some previous looks at the texture attempts. Lighting is also off in these pictures but as you can see its definitely a process

Its hard to break down week by week what all I did, mainly because I've been pulling several all-nighters any my sense of time is completely shot. I'll instead focus on the process overall and touch on examples of everything rather than list everything period

I enjoyed working on this a game a lot, it was a great experience, and while I'm graduating soon I'll still be in touch with the team to help with some other assets and texturing before the game goes live.

Lastly, the only real "big" new thing I made for the game from scratch this time was a modular hallway. Dont wanna say to much about it but I can showcase what it looks like, untextured, looking down it. That should be enough to really get a feel for it

For the interior I went back yo some previous assets and cut down the geometry for that extra performance as well. Optimizing for VR takes a good amount of time. Heres one example in the dining table. Not much but each bit is important

Texturing took awhile to get right but eventually settled on this result, at least what it looks like in substance, the result in unity looks much better but you'll have to play the game to see that

As for the interior environment itself I mostly worked on optimizing it in the beginning

This was done for a few assets over the last few weeks. This other crate for example though I myself didn't model this one, I did texture it

Breaking it down further to showcase how simple the geometry is and what the UVs look like. Comparing it to the texture maps from earlier should explain how it works for the most part.

A little confusing to look at without the UVs but when put through a program like Blender (though it was made for Unity) it comes out like this

Keeping it all to one thread, here;s some export out of substance that goes into making one of the smaller assets I modeled for the game earlier this month
