I've been playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time and I don't get the praise? Is this just a case of a foundational work not feeling ground breaking after years of imitation? I'm going to stick with it and finish it and maybe my opinion will change then

I've come to realise I kinda hate desktop animations. It just makes things feel sluggish and slow

Give it a few years, maybe a decade at most, and we'll be back to the same hellscape that caused Alan Turing's death.
Used for rapists and whatnot now, but all it'll take is for some far right person to get in power and deem gay and trans people sex offenders again, and we're back to square one.

Britain's chemical castration plan for sex offenders seems like the most obvious attempt to avoid doing anything about sex offending, while giving the govt an excuse to release large numbers of offenders despite the fact people can and do offend while chemically castrated.

GNOME broke so instead of fixing it I just installed a new distro. Back on Arch, Suse it was fun but I’m going back to old reliable

One of the things I like about 90s Trek is that they reuse sets. I know it sounds silly but having a few reused sets means more episodes and more creative episodes.
