Taking a vacation day was the smartest thing I could do today. It turned off cold and blustery. So we read. We snuggled. We listened to music.

One of us parkoured off the other one.

Some were bigger wins than others. 😂

I do hope the person who left their Hokas in the bathroom stall at the hospital remembers where they are.

And what do we do when the Cubs win this series?

Add to cart, of course.

Play the song!

Finally doing the sad task of deleting most of the pictures of our dog who passed earlier this year to make room for our new dog.

Sure was a beautiful dog and missed terribly.

Someone is utterly exhausted this morning.

Not pictured: that someone. It’s me.

New dog equals more walking in this dumb boot. And I’m tuckered out.

Good news is he appears to be too.

Ok I apparently have tiny ear holes and can’t really use ear buds well and have lost them the few attempts I have used the while sleeping. How do the stay in??

I’m using ones like this these days.

When I got married, my bouquet was origami flowers made from sheet music for three songs. “God Only Knows” was one of them.

RIP Brian Wilson. Glad to have seen him perform several years ago.

Last night I took a class to learn how to crochet a tiny cowboy hat.

I’ve tried to learn crochet many times over the years. This time might have made the most sense.

I should note: I didn’t even get through half the project and I got the farthest in the class. 😂

It’s another day of referencing this chart. Apparently I need to eat. 🫤

My staff member bought me goldfish crackers as a celebration of getting through all my stressful stuff lately.

I have a great team, y’all. A really great team.

I’ve been capturing my reading habits since 2008 or so. I finished my 1,000 book today.

What a shitty book for that milestone.

Today is National Library Workers Day and I celebrated my staff with turtle themed snacks because “I am turtley glad they are part of my team”.

What a week.

Lemon, it’s only Monday.

Really though? Geese are terrifying. Super protective and their beaks are about at my eye height.

My Chicago review:

The neighborhood has changed and everything smells like pot.

How is my day going? It’s a four drink on my desk day.

Yknow what, it HAS been a shite week. While cheesy, this was appreciated today.

This weekend’s moment of joy.

I’m losing my voice but it’s not yet at Bea Arthur territory. I keep describing it as Peter Brady esque.

I severely overestimated how many people would get the reference.

I’m trying to fine joy everyday, even if it’s tiny. Last night’s sky was pretty magical.

Best response to an email apologizing for the 800th time for not getting my act together.

Your academic librarians are not well right now.

Lolsob indeed
