Independent Cornwall Councillor for Helston North. Re-elected on May 1st 2025. Working for all the residents of my division.
Great to see our Town Band out this morning for the first of the two practices. Plenty of supporters lined the streets but the numbers dancing behind the band seemed fewer. A great start to Election Day. Polls close at 10 pm.

Great to be attending the final meeting in the winter programme of the Helston Old Cornwall Society. Tonight’s meeting is entitled - Tools to Amuse and Confuse - by Max Simpson. There are some amazing bits of Cornish memorabilia in front of us. Images to follow.

Blue skies over Helston for Mothering Sunday - can be a very poignant day for so many people who hoped to be a parent.

Got a good view of the partial solar eclipse this morning over Helston. Felt great to watch the solar engineering of the cosmos - and the pin hole camera was a fascinating distraction. Brought back memories of August 1999 as I reused my eclipse goggles.

Proud to be a supporter of Shelterbox that is now 25 years old and started here in Helston. Many Helstonians volunteered their support in those early days and I took hundreds of young people from Helston School for site visits. Thank you for your continued work.

CORMAC are happy with this - but for Health and Safety reasons Coinagehall Street will remain dry. What do you think? There could be issues of localised flooding if litter gets stuck in the kennels in the streets already mentioned. Do let me know your thoughts.

For a decade or more Flora Day has seen the Kennels dry as the flow of water for the town was turned off in Wendron. Dale and Martin have a plan which will see flowing water at Godolphin Road, Penrose Road and Church Street through careful rerouting.

This will be the main entrance to Helston’s new primary care GP surgery which opens on April 1st. The quality of outfitting is very high indeed with some cracking pieces of wood on show.

These controls are the heart of the heating system at Helston’s new Gateway building which opens soon. The heat pumps are sourcing heat from pipes going down many metres below Helston. Truly amazing - science fiction meets science fact.

What an amazing show last night from Public Service Broadcasting. Their take on the Apollo moon landings was particularly stunning. Certainly a unique style using sound and moving image.

Martin and Dale the guardians of our Leats and Kennels. Without their steadfast commitment the water would not be flowing so smoothly.
