Personally, this isolate condition - banishment for the last twenty years without hope of reprieve is probably no worse than that experienced by any individual at the business end of their existence,

Journalists (especially older ones) are trained to be unbiased. There is no such thing as unbiased. They end up defaulting to the position of the established gentry as the "norm" and most "unbiased" position and "more correct" because they tend to have more opinions from the established "truth".

(This is not an endorsement of capitalism just an observation of how incredibly broken it actually is)

The private sector has had hundreds of years to "create" something as great as National Parks, it hasn't. The same with a functional healthcare system, a transportation system, an education system. All of these things are imperfect when the government does them, but we at least have them.
