Video games, video game music, compelling stories, and tasty food. All I wanna do is #demo you.
I briefly tried the Sega, Namco, Capcom, and SNK versions of Picross S. They’re all basically the same, but the newer ones have 10 music tracks you can shuffle instead of 4-6 tracks in the older ones with no shuffle. #demo

I tried out SteamWorld Build since it's leaving Game Pass. I enjoyed the lite simulation and city building mechanics and the loop of steadily expanding above and below ground to get new abilities to keep expanding. #demo

Kirby Air Riders is a combat racing game with prototypical “simple to learn, hard to master” mechanics based around a boost/charge command with multiple uses. I imagine some will really enjoy learning how to master it. #demo

My Musou collection. How do you Musou?

Majogami continues Inticreates recent quantity over quality trend with another mediocre action game. While the controls remain excellent, the art style is hard to parse and the game just isn’t interesting. #demo

and Roger is one of the strangest and most interesting games I’ve tried recently. The extremely short #demo demonstrates the anxiety and uncertainty the main character is experiencing through the simple mechanics. It left me intrigued.

Earthion OST is great, and fits the game perfectly. If you didn’t know this was a new game, you could easily believe this was released in the early 90s. #gamemusic

I played through the easy mode of Earthion, a new shmup that faithfully replicates a Sega Genesis game. With music from Yuzo Kushiro and some surprising progression elements, it’s a fun time. Will try my luck on normal difficulty next (I’m not very good at this type of game).

I also went through the surprising Banshee’s Last Cry visual novel crossover added to Street Fighter 6. Enjoyed the short, silly story, but needed help from Reddit to figure out how to unlock all 15 endings.

I completed the C. Viper Arcade and World Tour mode content in Street Fighter 6. Love that they are keeping the game relevant for solo players.

I watched Weapons. It might be a little over-stuffed with themes which makes it hard to say which one is the central theme, but it's very well done, especially the pacing and cinematography. Easy recommendation.

Gigasword is a very promising Metroidvania with excellent puzzles that revolve around putting down your heavy sword so you can jump higher and then figuring out how to get the sword back. The #demo is a bit buggy, so hopefully the final game will be cleaner, but I really like it.

I’m not much of an SRPG fan, but I like the twists in Metal Slug Tactics. Neat how you get rewarded for moving around a lot and positioning your characters to surround enemies to create sync attacks. Less of a fan of the roguelite progression, but the pixel art is gorgeous. #demo

I tried out Return to Monkey Island, but I just couldn’t get into it. The start of the game just didn’t draw me in at all and the art style isn’t my thing. #demo

I finally got around to watching True Detective: Night Country and I liked both its gripping murder mystery and its themes of family and mental health. That being said, the nods to Season 1 were pointless and did nothing but cheapen things, so they should have been excluded.

The TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Ultimate Edition OST adds a second disc with “radical remixes” which are mostly excellent chiptune arrangements. Great stuff. #gamemusic

I love TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, but after three rounds of physical releases plus digital releases, I’m ready to be done spending money on it.

The Daemon x Machina Titanic Scion OST is good, with a nice mix of genres. I think I still like the first game’s OST a bit more though. #gamemusic

As a direct sequel to the Mutant Mayhem movie, TMNT: Mutants Unleashed absolutely nails the aesthetic, vibe, and characters from the film. Unfortunately, the actual game is just a mediocre brawler, but kids who loved the movie might still enjoy it. #demo

I briefly tried the new remasters of Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 on Switch 2. Two of the best games ever made, and still amazing. Only downside of these versions is that the pointer is a bit difficult to use with the Pro Controller's gyro function compared to the Wiimote. #demo

My sweet Yoshi is finally free from Wii jail

Guitar Cover Collection from Square Enix Music Channel is an excellent array of acoustic guitar arrangements from a variety of classic games. Love the Live A Live track! #gamemusic

Pulse: Final Fantasy XIV Remix Album Vol. 2 (Deluxe Edition) is an excellent EDM take on FFXIV. The “Deluxe” in the name just means it has a few extra tracks compared to the digital release. #gamemusic

Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time and GoldenEye is my most played game of all time, but no game holds a more special place in my heart than Seiken Densetsu 3 (Trials of Mana).

Final Fantasy IX Chiptune Arrangement Tracks is pretty good, but very short at only 25 min. #gamemusic
