Overall, we uncover a profound epigenetic sex divergence that mediates convergent biological dysregulation, and highlight opportunities for developing improved therapeutic strategies tailored to sex-specific mechanisms.

Sex-divergent brain epigenetic reprogramming by chronic opioids
Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a chronic condition that exhibits sex differences in prevalence, symptoms and treatment. Yet, the epigenetic mechanisms underlying these differences remain largely unknown...

Happy to share our new preprint on opioid addiction! We profiled the multiomic consequences of chronic opioid exposure in male and female mouse brains, covering DNA methylation (using EMseq), 5 histone marks (Cut&Tag) & their transcriptional effects at bulk and cell-type-specific levels (vTRAP).

Happy to share our latest work. We analyzed 3 omic layers, DNA methylation, micro-RNAs & the transcriptome, in patients with major depressive disorder & controls. Results showed that the performance of MDD prediction increased with the number of layers considered. www.thelancet.com/journals/ebi...
Using multiomic integration to improve blood biomarkers of major depressive disorder: a case-control study
Informational gain from multiomic integration had already been documented in other medical fields. Our results pave the way toward similar advances in molecular psychiatry, and have practical implicat...
