Turn **Row 2:** sel s, [p1, k1] – repeat till the end, p1, sel s. Turn. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the ribbing measures 5 cm. Switch to larger knitting needles or continue working with the same size. The main part of the hat is knitted in garter stitch. **Next Row:** sel s, knit all stitches, sel s. Repeat this row until the main part (after the ribbing) measures 9-10 cm. ### **Shaping frog hat’s crown:** The next step is to join the knitting in the round. To do this, slip the last stitch from the right-hand needle to the left-hand needle and then knit the first and last stitches together (k2tog). You should now have 96 stitches on the needles. Work 8 SC into the ring, then join with sl st to the first SC. (8 sts) **Round 2:** Ch 1, 2 SC into the same stitch as join, 2 SC in each stitch around. To join, insert the hook into the 1st SC, draw up a loop, yarn over with new (white) color and pull through both loops to complete the stitch. Cut the black yarn. (16 sts). **Round 3:** ch 1, SC into the same stitch as join, 2 SC in next st, [SC in next st, 2 SC in next st] – repeat around. Join with sl st to 1st SC.
