Here's how they turned out by the way

New cups. I remembered to take a picture before glazing them this time! They're in the kiln at the moment, slowly getting to 1260°C

The last white porcelain goblet. I will have to throw some more i guess

And here is the smaller of the two kilns in the new shop, being stacked for bisque firing. The heat is not as uniform as in the old monsters, but it works

The very last firing i did with my old master. This kiln is now dismantled after more than forty years of regular use. My stuff on the top shelf

Oh these are old, and all sold. Here's one of them though

And here is a glazed and finished sconce, ready for lamps, flowers, incense or whatnot.

My wall sconces are assembled from three individually thrown parts: the container itself, the decorative point and the stem like wall attachment

Sometimes i remember to take pictures of the pottery production itself. This is from my old workshop, spring 2022, and i'm making wall sconces/flowerpots i see

This has a basic ZnO crystal glaze with no oxides or colour added. Porcelain is a great canvas for the crystals

It's been a while since i posted any pottery: this is from a crystal glaze experiment i did a while ago. These are sinc silicate crystals, coloured by cobaltic oxide and titanium oxide

Some pottery from my home town shop. Going back there in two weeks time, very much looking forward to that

I do enjoy marbling, especially this type of marbling: porcelain and black clay slammed together and thrown. Very hard to do, but the results can be pleasing. Hashtags? I never really liked hashtags, but oh well #wheelthrown #pottery #porcelain

Some more pottery, this is from my last gallery. A nice old building - from the 1750s i think? All of these things are sold bar two of the vases

Sometimes i make one offs and this is one of them. Mass throwing the most popular items can be wearing, and making something else, with no plan, is a great way of snapping out of it

It's not great, and i didn't throw any more of them, but it was fun nonetheless

I was visiting a friend and frequent guest of our workshop and was bemused to see the first of the candle holders i made having pride of place in the very center of his living room. If want to flatter a potter, this is how you do it people ❤️

Setting and firing a kiln is usually a long and complex process, and usually takes precedence over any other tasks in a potter's workshop day.

This was not one of those days, however: i just wanted these candle holders fired asap - i was excited and wanted to see them done

Sometimes the amount of iron oxide in the glaze is *just* right. This lemon juicer looks even more like chocolate than the pictures can convey.

I was very happy with this batch - they look really good, and they're great for juicing lemons

Here's the colours i chose for them: dark green glaze on the outsides, transparent glaze - showing the stoneware's natural colour - on the insides. I did not make this glaze myself and i don't care much for it, but others do, so 🤷‍♀️

The beer mugs can hold a full pint including head. They sell well

More recent pottery, this is from last summer - these are all bisque fired at 960°C/1760°F and ready for glazing.

Upon a time i'd been throwing too much with heavily grogged stoneware and my hands were a bloody mess, so i decided to make some tentacled candle holders from rolled clay while my skin healed.

I made perhaps ten of these? All different
