Happy Latin Heritage Month! This year I really reconnected with my Bolivian heritage through folkloric dance. It's grounded me and filled my heart.
Last week, I danced the Diablada. We're the prancing devils, in clothing and masks mocking our colonizers. It's how we find joy in telling OUR story.

Me explaining to my husband the influence and awesomeness of visual kei music and bands like X Japan, Lucifer, Luna Sea, Gackt, etc and how the Burning Soul song on Dandadan attacked me with such nostalgia that it rekindled my jaded soul.

For me personally, being the person who measures the ingredients, mixes it all up, bakes, decorates a cake AND gets to serve it to people, is better than eating said cake 🎂

It's been a busy cultural week. Recognition from the Bolivian Embassy for representing folkloric and indigenous culture. Then dancing in the lovely Frankfurt to celebrate Bolivia's bicentennial 🇧🇴
