The UAE's interest in Sudan seems to be primarily to take out as much gold as they can by funding the RSF.

The UAE has no gold mines - it has to be imported and for the government, it seems, funding a genocidal war is a cheap way to obtain this valuable commodity - it all seems very colonial.

As the atrocities have come to light - influencers in the UAE sprung into action mocking the victims in Sudan (often using racist language) as well as calling for more deaths.

These actions seem to be sanctioned by the state and its leader bin Zayed and go hand in hand with government propaganda.

Odd that it makes him feel so passionate and vocal about it without actually explaining what's wrong about it.

Journalist Santiago Rodríguez, of Colombian publication La Silla Vacia, discovered that Colombian mercenaries had been recruited by the UAE to take part in the war in Sudan.

They had been told they were getting lucrative jobs in the UAE itself before being sent to Sudan to escalate the brutal war.
