Thousand-Year Door is a top 5 favorite game of all time for me but it wouldn't exist without the original. While I think TTYD refines basically everything that makes PM special, this game still holds up very well. The battle system rules and the vibe is charming as hell.

Remember Dadish?! No? Well, he's back. And this time... he can ride on a hamburger man sometimes. So it's automatically better than the first game. But seriously, Dadish is a fun little sidescroller and Dadish 2 is more of the same. I think the level design is a bit better.

Listen, I'm aware that this game has a reputation but I had a lot of fun with it in the brief time I played it, especially when I was playing with friends. It was a decent way to pass time before Smash 4 came out. Plus is has Evil Cole. Evil Cole!

Nidhogg is cool, man. It's basically just a cartoonish fencing game with incredibly simple, slick sprite work and even simpler gameplay but playing with a friend is a riot. Finally catching up to your opponent and knocking their sword out of their hands just feels good.

I've played Ms. Pac-Man like a million times but the one I played the most was on a Namco Museum compilation for the GBA. It and Dig Dug were the two I played the most. It's a classic for a reason. It's simple yet addictive. Shame that Ms. Pac-Man was put out to pasture.

While not as good as its 3DS follow-up, it's still a modern day Kirby game, which means it's better than most games. There's just a consistency to Kirby sidescrollers. They're always fun times if not just straight up A Tier games. It's a little vanilla but good.

Full transparency, I never beat Startropics. It has some of that frustrating NES difficulty that I just can't always jive with. But I do love the weirdness of this game. I think it has some pretty unique gameplay and the sense of humor is great. Shame Nintendo hates it.

They've gotten really bad the last few years (example below) but they've always been some level of bad so I really don't get the backlash here.

I have a lot of problems with SMS ranging from unfair difficulty spikes to certain poorly designed stages to the blue coins making up a huge number of Shines. But at the end of the day, I still like the game a lot for it's unique setting and vibes for Mario.

I have a lot of problems with SMS ranging from unfair difficulty spikes to certain poorly designed stages to the blue coins making up a huge number of Shines. But at the end of the day, I still like the game a lot for it's unique setting and vibes for Mario.

This is the mobile game I've currently been playing a lot recently. It's a match 3 puzzle game but they just give you a big pile of 3D objects and you have to find the ones they tell you to in groups of 3s. It's fun but the Disney theme is oddly inconsistent.

Yeah I'm breaking rank but for good reason. Easily the best of the Mario Kart-likes, DKR is probably better than half of the MK games, honestly. The adventure mode is just so novel.

So the girls are being the Queen of Hearts and Alice for Halloween and I'm wearing just an Alice in Wonderland shirt but I love how you can tell whatever image they based this Caterpillar pose on clearly had him smoking the hookah and they just didn't include it.
