We don’t yet use temocillin routinely at our site, though hope to increase usage in the next year, along with cefepime. Good to hear how it is being used elsewhere, but also be reminded that no antibiotic is a magic bullet.
Good to have real world data of others using temocillin in these settings (we do all the time), but its findings were hardly surprising. Essentially:
"For really bad disease, antibiotics alone don't usually do the trick"

I learned a new acronym today: LRE - linezolid resistant enterococcus. Took me 30 seconds to puzzle it out, but wonder if it will become part of standard clinical practice?

I always kept a pretty low profile on twitter, but am resolved to be more vocal on this platform. I hugely valued twitter as a place to learn from people around the globe, so I hope that experience, and expertise can soon be found here.
