Immigrant service members are legally entitled to expedited citizenship. Yet countless veterans were never naturalized, never warned they could still be deported, even after serving in combat.

Together with local government champions, legal service providers, and immigrant rights advocates across the country, we are continuing the critical work of defending due process until everyone secures their fair day in court.

The administration’s continued attacks on due process have stripped many of their rights, leaving immigrants to face court and detention alone. These assaults undermine the very foundation of our democracy and underscore the urgency to protect immigrant communities.

We call on ICE and the DHS to immediately:
- Ensure access to medical and mental health care;
- Provide clean drinking water and adequate food;
- Guarantee attorney access for all detainees; and
- End the use of detention as a coercive tool that forces people to abandon their legal rights.

“When the government makes due process unbearable, it is not due process at all,” shared ImmDef Staff Attorney Adrian Pachon.

We are calling on local, state, & federal authorities to conduct immediate oversight, to ensure that these facilities are held accountable & that access to counsel, the cornerstone of due process, is fully protected.

No one deserves to die waiting for their day in court, cut off from their family.
