This was what Judge Millett was getting at today in the D.C. Circuit oral argument. If the government doesn't have to give you notice or a hearing before removing you from the country, what's to stop them from removing you - literally you, the person reading this - from the country tomorrow?

The Supreme Court said in 2010 that the Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission decision wouldn't damage Americans' faith in democracy. Whoops.

Here's a bright idea; rather than toss aside the foundational principles of our country because "due process too hard," let's do what Congress did when faced with this issue multiple times in the past; create a path to legal status for those in the country already, allowing us to clear backlogs.
