Herrentorte used to be one of my favourites as a kid. It's layers of sponge with a thin spread of something jammy/marzipan-y in between and a dark chocolate covering, if I remember correctly.

Yep, and then there was Herrenkuchen and Herrentorte.

We also have "Edelbitter" with 60% cocoa, which used to be known as "Herrenschokolade" i.e. "gentlemen's chocolate". If anything is going to be made into an edge lord drink, it's that one. Because delicate ladies' palates cannot cope with it or something. 🙄

My native country is full of unexploded bombs near some areas. Hardly a month goes by where there isn't a road blocked or houses being evacuated for a defusing and removal. During a massive drought a few years back, you could see them lying in the riverbed. You get used to it.
