I just want to be happy for jackpot but japan keeps serving up these dreadful ideas because they're too god damn humble to (kindly) tell melon where to stick his rapid pro. like how can I walk away from that set and think "wow we're finally good" when every map is lost at weapon selection

you can't play a high watermark objective with a weapon that loses you the game when you miss. you will always get clutched on. it's even worse when you have no retake because you have no ranged paint and no bombs. it's the devs' fault, but when your job is to win, the game being shit is no excuse.

like if I play one map with these weapons, I'm immediately thinking "nah there's no way we play this", regardless of what odinx or melon or riukun or whoever are telling me. my brain would be going wild over all the ways we lose from this pick.

it's clear that jp teams do not think like this.

mist on rm can be very annoying, sure. but you have to be able to look past the gimmick and remember that you *can't play the game* if you don't have bombs. if you run sensor, you can't run mist. you need a hard wall to block fast pushes, not a god damn rapid that literally can't kill quickly enough

but holy hell this was a disaster. japan is never cynical enough to say "alright this game's ass and we need to accept that if we want to win. we need to pick bombs, abuse the hell out of stamper, run edit/pencil" etc etc and instead we get these ridiculous gimmicks like sensor + 2 mists on rm

but. man. I've been saying for years that japan is super vulnerable and isn't a strong region (the west is just excruciatingly bad at the game) and every single element of my reasoning was on full display here.

and of course I don't want that to undermine jackpot's win here by any means
