SEC Rule 10b-18 (Adopted in 1982) aka “Safe Harbor” created a safe harbor from liability for market manipulation as corporate share buybacks were considered a form or market manipulation. It’s coined as a return of value to shareholders but the other side of the coin is overlooked.

When Yellen was the Fed Chair, Bessent criticized Yellen when she was rolling over long term debt in short term instruments because they had a lower interest rate. Bessent is doing the exact same thing now but to the extreme! This is the same guy who lost 90% of his hedge fund. We’re on good hands!

In the coming days, think of the feds working for free (but not ICE :), those furlough and the SNAP recipients who will not get their benefits. The MAGA have the president, majority in the Senate and House but it’s democrats’ and Biden’s fault.
