Coca-Cola weaponized language and hijacked culture. Now, these IPs became loyal to the brand. #langsky #linguistics

About a week ago, I was invited by a Uni to talk about #LinguisticLandscape as a method and an emerging field in Philippine #Linguistics. In a nutshell, English hegemony is conspicuous in most LLs and not all ethno-linguistic groups are represented despite presence, thus, marginalized and excluded.

Tomorrow, I’ll be imparting my knowledge on and experience in conducting #LinguisticLandscape studies to the faculty and students of Mindanao State University- General Santos City. 🗺️

In 2 separate education conferences in Mindanao, Philippines 🇵🇭, I was able to impart the findings and impacts of my study on Hyperdocs in improving students’ writing skills, especially in using punctuation marks and other mechanics. Hooray! #EduSky #edtech #language
