Finally, our Special Thematic Strand co-ordinator will work with the IMC team to split the STS thematically into multiple sub-strands. We then put these into the strand index, alongside our 39 permanent strands, to create a useful tool for you to find sessions you're interested in by theme!

We then pass these on to our programming committee, made up of international experts who each handle one of our 39 regular strands, our Special Thematic Strand Coordinator who handles the STS each year (this year's is 'Temporalities').

However, in these cases, please do get in touch with us via email at imc@leeds.ac.uk in advance of the deadline, so that we can do our best to facilitate this.

Which brings us to our next format, Round Table Discussions (also with a deadline of 30th September). These usually see a panel of participants coming together to discuss a topic. They'll often give a brief statement each, before launching into a wider discussion.

Our session proposal deadline is fast approaching on 30th September!

Sessions consist of 3 or 4 papers on a common topic or theme - plus a moderator who will introduce speakers and handle questions. These sessions can be standalone, or form linked series of up to 4 sessions and 1 Round Table.

Finally, once this process is complete, we get to send out acceptances! You should usually expect to hear from us in December prior to the IMC.

Next, all papers are reviewed by our brilliant strand co-ordinators, a panel of international experts with special responsibility for a strand. The Programming Committee assess papers based on our Participation and Acceptance Criteria. They may ask the IMC team to get in touch for more information.
