One of the worst feelings as a GM is having you and your players lose interest in a campaign that you had really interesting plans for, and no way to implement them in your new campaign.
My last BBEG was going to punch holes in reality and cast spells from other game systems. Would have been cool.

If you think your players are getting too comfortable, start playing subharmonics instead of background music. Guaranteed to make everybody on edge for the whole session, including you! Panic attacks aren't a bug, they're a feature. Please roll a wisdom save

Spicy D&D take time! 4e is underrated and overhated, and I've used so much 4e mechanics in my 5e games we might as well switch.

How do y'all deal with your players just straight up missing clues that you throw to them with the softest of pitches? Like I explicitly told my players 3 times a direct link between a character and a murder and they went "gosh, we have no clues!"

I love my players, I really do. They're my wonderful chaos gremlins and I adore them. They are also dumber than a box of rocks the moment they all try to do anything as a group. It's amazing.

The availability of revivify completely modifies the way society operates. For example, police in my main world hire clerics to revivify in case of lethal force being required to neutralize a threat. Healthcare, on the other hand, gets complicated with clerics around.

The setting I run my current campaign in is quite fun, it was the brainchild of me and one of my players as the city of origin for a character they made about... 5 years ago now? Maybe 4. (Side note: that character was a terrible person, very well played.) 1/2
