Seven years ago, I drew this in a fit of artistic ennui. I quickly dumped it into my archive and moved on with life. Well, perusing through my archive today this floated to the top. After all of those years, it still holds water. Artists who love their work are a mystery to me. #artist #creatives

One of my kid’s friends asked how they can be a better artist. They mostly draw anime style character studies. I advised them to draw more backgrounds and objects to interact with. Tell a wordless story with the mundane! #artist #illustration #drawing #nextlevel

I had a therapist who counseled me to draw what I’m feeling. She then told me to draw myself as the hero. It didn’t cure my depression, but it helped. Now I have a superhero in my head who shows up when my depression manifests. His voice reminds me of The Tick. It makes me laugh. #artist #depression

I’m sitting in my room hiding from the encroaching darkness, drawing happy slices of light hoping that some of it will spill out into the world and make a difference.

I belong to a daily drawing challenge group. Last year I started a picture and then got distracted by paying work. I discovered it in my archives this morning and decided to finish it. The drawing prompt is on the right.
