I used to think that- open it up, stop treating this green space as one big health & safety problem. But now the sheer numbers of people in the park every year, some trundling wheelie cases, buggies etc over the skylark nesting sites, dumping rubbish. Now I think leave the crags to the peregrines.

I commend its line about being 'like no other' - doesn't give an opinion on good or bad therefore covers a wide range of taste-reaction scenarios...

Lovely to hear from you Alasdair. I always remember meeting you for lunch and a fine chat at Ocean Terminal just before I left the civil service. I'm doing fine- left work last year, now studying English lit. MA and thinking about other times. Hope you are ok. And I wonder who that pub regular is!

Glad you warned me..I wonder why they moved him, he was quite fine where he was. Hope he's not somewhere he'll get the now-obligatory tourist treatment (see Hume and the wee dug).

The problem is it'll jump from the ' unfashionable' to the 'expensive rentals/student flats/wealthy people's flats and locals will be moved out to the mass new builds they're putting up on the outskirts. The irony is same thing happened when the High Street was gentrified and folk moved to Granton.

Yes, it's like they are the prototype for all soft toys. What is it about us humans that makes us collectively respond to other creatures in the ways we do🤔.

Don't you think it's a bit worrying that the angel is just left propped up there? Would be more secure (in both meanings of the word) if it was fixed back where it should be.
