You know that feeling when you realise your cat is out, there are fireworks going off and whistling, calling & shaking the Dreamies bag gets no response, then they slink in an hour later smelling of fish?

Today is also the day I cleared a space in a bureau drawer for my new custom @elrohirleather.bsky.social travellers notebook. This meant rearranging the ink bottles and at least 7 less interesting notebooks (some are Paperblanks so pretty but sadly generally not fountain pen friendly.)

George Bain's Celtic Art Methods of Construction has been enlightening with regards to elements in it being on at least one Greenwood Tarot card and three or four Celtic Shaman cards - mostly the same two images, a reconstructed deer from Abernethy and a leaf pattern from St Vigean's.

Last day today, then goodbye to the charity I've worked at for 21 years.

My archive of newsletters and other documents and directories has been sent off to the National Library of Wales. I feel both happy and sad about this. I'm glad they'll be preserved, but it was a wrench to hand that box over after the work I put in over the last 20 years to keep it all safe.

Just finished Sarn Helen by Tom Bullough. It's left me feeling 'but what can I do?'. I recycle, I don't fly, I spend the winter colder than I'd like, I buy second-hand... but heat pumps, solar panels and electric cars are beyond what I can afford.

Visited Avebury last weekend, took a detour to see the Uffington Horse on the way home and saw this rainbow.

Just feel the need to get this out - having to help close the charity you've worked at for over 20 years is absolutely shit. Not just in terms of the fact I'm going to be unemployed very soon, but the memories that get raked up by having to sort through everything.

So I managed to injure my leg a couple of weeks ago. Upside - Silence of the Gods has been read and I'm half way through Pagan Britain. Downside - some pain/discomfort, the house is a mess. I'm trying to decide how I feel about this.

Up next on my reading list - Silence of the Gods by @drfrancisyoung.bsky.social and Pagan Britain by Ronald Hutton - looking forward to reading both of these!

Very happy to now own this beautiful etching by Chesca Potter, inspired by cave art in Font-de-Gaume cave, France. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!

I descaled my kettle - the first time I've ever done such a thing. I'm in my late 40s and feel I've reached a whole new level of adulthood.

I was super organised this year and managed to mow the lawns in April ready for No Mow May. I still have a jungle! If the insects (and the thumbs that eat them) are happy it's all good though.

Does anyone out there know of any fiction or poetry written by Chesca Potter outside of her Ritual Dialogue of Herne & Helen and the story in Earthwalking Skydancers? A bit of a long shot but if you don't ask... #ChescaPotter #GreenwoodTarot

For no real reason I'm currently playing Thi4f. It's a bit fun and also a bit meh. I've been reading and it's not the original Garrett and is set around 400 years after the original games, but they've kept the name Garrett. I can only imagine they were trying to annoy Thief fans as much as possible.

I would like a second copper fountain pen. Would kind of like a Gravitas, but also tempted by a Kaweco Liliput - so neat to carry around! #fountainpen

A couple of Shibui North Pocket foxes. I love these pens! The patina on the copper is really nice. #fountainpens

I've seen some excitement over the #GreenwoodTarot reprint. Much as I would love to join in and sign up for the Kickstarter, I feel there's too much doubt around the wishes of the artist #ChescaPotter - she's certainly not given permission as those involved don't know where she is.

The original, non-gendered Lovers card from the Greenwood Tarot that was refused by the publisher. This could be bought directly from Chesca Potter, and there are at least four versions as she appears to have changed her mind about elements in the art.

New fountain pens this week! A Kaweco Collection Iguana Blue, wanted a metal pen to carry around with my lovely @elrohirleather.bsky.social passport sized travellers notebook. Also a Hongdian Year of the Snake - I was born in a snake year and was excited to get a snake pen.

I've been using a kindle and buying ebooks from Amazon for 15 years. Not anymore. Just ordered a Kobo ereader, the Clara Colour. Not interested in buying digital content I'm not allowed to download and keep my own backup of.

The very lovely Hongdian A7 stabilised wood pen in green with a medium nib and Dominant Industry Autumn Forest ink. It is a shimmer ink, so I've provided a close of some text that shows the shimmer well. #fountainpen
