I don't necessarily expect my dad to foot for therapy with us, his immediate family who are markedly less racist and homophobic than them, but Jesus Christ, at some point in your bid to convince me you've changed, that should include severing those ties. I can't accept anything less, frankly.

Meanwhile he never stopped interacting with any of them after they accused my sister and I of (somehow???) wanting money from my grandparents when we asked that they stop wreaking psychological warfare on our mom. They're evil, evil people. My life was improved the instant I cut ties with them.

I have to hear second hand about basically anything that's happening to him, including his therapy sessions with my garbage aunt and uncle, who continually reach out under the guise of wanting to fix their relationship with him but actually just want concession that their past behavior was fine.
