Friends don't let friends pump without getting fitted for their flange size.

There's a very good chance you're *not* a 24mm.

Friendly reminder to new parents:

Just because it's hard, doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.

Postpartum (esp. here in the US) is just really, really hard. It's asking one person to do the job of a village. But I promise you, you're doing great.

Any conversation among professionals about improving perinatal wellness that doesn't include education on safe cosleeping is missing a fundamental piece of the puzzle.

It never ceases to amaze me how many healthcare providers are content to slap band-aid after band-aid on their patients' issues, never questioning why they continue seeing the same challenges over and over again.

Meanwhile, patients never get real root cause answers. US healthcare is so broken.

"Drowsy but awake" works for a *very* small handful of babies and backfires spectacularly with many others.

*Most* babies need the presence of a caregiver to fall asleep, and this is completely normal. ❤️

Things that probably won't increase your #lowmilksupply: lactation cookies, sports drinks, drinking oodles of water.

Things that DO move the needle on #milksupply: effective milk expression, correct flange sizes, strategic herbs, and (when needed) targeted labs to assess & treat imbalances. #ibclc

Night waking is 100 percent normal for all babies throughout the first year. Waking up at night is most often due to hunger, but can also be due to a wet diaper, being warm/cold, discomfort or teething, or simply wanting to check in with a caregiver and know they are safe. ❤️

Baby bottles may have *excellent* marketing, but very few of them are actually ideal for infant feeding. Send this to a pregnant friend working on their registry:

Most Baby Bottles Suck – Here’s How to Pick a Solid One
I remember when I added bottles to my baby registry as an expecting, first-time parent five years ago. There were SO MANY CHOICES (and this was 2019 – there’s even more now) and all of …

An infant dropping percentiles is NEVER normal. While it usually isn't an emergency, it IS a 🚩 to investigate further.

A baby should following their unique growth curve from birth. If there is any significant deviation, it should trigger an automatic referral to a skilled IBCLC.
