Is that the money they lost when USAID project stopped?

Very good

Way to go, Montenegro!

Imports aren’t a drain—they’re part of trade. The UK buys cars, but sells services. That’s comparative advantage. Plus, much of the servicing spend stays local—mechanics, garages, parts. Local transport also relies on imports.

That is why Ukraine should start building European standard gauge as soon as possible.

This is what real intermodality looks like — seamless, sustainable, and user-friendly. Hope Ukraine follows soon: bikes on trains should be the norm, not a niche.

Agree on urgency — delay only empowers Russia and weakens Europe’s credibility. These assets should serve justice, not sit idle. Use them to support Ukraine and reinforce Europe’s security.

Schiphol’s permit annulled again — a reminder that even major infrastructure must meet environmental standards. If a key EU hub can swing between legal and illegal over permits, it shows how serious the accountability shift has become.

Another blow for our exporters. They’re asking UKR government to negotiate tariff reduction to 10% from 25%, but instead it will shoot up to 50%. 😭

That’s a relief — but the risk remains as long as Russia occupies the plant. The only real guarantee of safety at Zaporizhzhia is full Ukrainian control and demilitarization.

Ukraine has shown strong commitment to EU values throughout this journey. Dialogue with Hungary is welcome — but the path to membership must stay grounded in principles, not just politics.

A reminder that EU membership isn’t just political — it’s transformative economically. Ukraine deserves that same chance.

Strong signal from Denmark — and a reminder that Council presidencies still matter politically. Ukraine’s path to the EU can’t be held hostage by one member state’s illiberal agenda. Rule of law should be a foundation, not a bargaining chip.

Yes — so much of the “imbalance” reflects tax engineering, not real flows. A tariff war based on distorted numbers would hurt real sectors on both sides. For Ukraine, it risks collateral damage just as we’re aligning with EU rules and rebuilding trade through the transatlantic corridor.
