That didn't register as an important issue in 2024. It's that Trump attacked the Biden economy, which resonated more with the lived experiences of people, while Biden promoted his economy as good. Obviously Trump hasn't been any better, but people somehow didn't expect that (sad and stupid, IKR)

The issue for me about the current state of discourse is people being mad at AI without bothering to learn how it works; oftentimes it's not thoughtful criticism but rather just people being total scumbags to anyone who dares generate a meme image with AI.

Actually, these companies use reinforcement learning (rewarding good outputs) and finetuning (training on curated datasets of higher quality) to avoid this issue. The idea that they simply just train and deploy the base models is a myth

Again, a boycott is not what AOC advocated for. If these people ended up boycotting or wasting their votes, that was their decision alone, not AOC's plan.
