Ketan, I truly respect your work and your attitude. I only want to express my concern that these discussions might become polarized. As Lint Barrage noted in a recent New York Times article, there is often a fine line between being a scientist and being an activist.

The paper’s results were compromised by two issues: an error in the data, which major impact on the findings (as noted in www.nature.com/articles/s41...), and an underestimation of the std errors, as explained in the paper you mentioned. We shouldn’t always look for conspiracies behind everything.
