Got room for a color sketch?

From what I've heard, it was actually a decent game. It just caught up in a bunch of other shit that lead to its failure. Haven't played it myself.

I love puzzle games, even very difficult ones, but Stephen's Sausage Roll has never clicked for me. And while I'm terrible at social deduction games, I love Trouble in Terrorist Town. I don't need to be good at lying when I have a gun.

This took several hours to figure out, but it was worth it. The game runs SO much better now.

The alignment problem I ran into was that my colors didn't correspond exactly to the correct UVs. Tiles would get more and more misaligned the further they were from (0,0). The solution? Multiply up to a big number, round to nearest int, and divide back down.

To move this to the GPU, I baked what I call an Animation Map that targets the appropriate UVs for every tile at every animation frame. The tileset is repeated 8 times vertically, and each tile jumps from one set to the next on every animation tick.

I spent this morning implementing a bunch of shader fuckery to move my animation system from the CPU to the GPU. I found (unsurprisingly) that calling a function on 5,000 nodes at once to update their UVs every animation tick will bog down the engine.

Some other angles. The lighting has been in all sorts of different states so it's kind of between looks atm. Been bouncing around colours trying to echo the look of 70s pulp sci-fi and films like Outland. But I feel I ended up drifting too far away from brutalism.
